DA Conley speaks to students from the Eliot K-8 School and the St. John School about Internet safety and cyberbullying.
One of District Attorney Daniel F. Conley’s top priorities is the protection of children in Suffolk County. To further that goal, DA Conley has increased his office’s efforts to prevent, investigate and prosecute the online exploitation of children and teenagers.
The Internet is a useful tool, and has become a staple of everyday life. For children and teenagers however, the Internet also carries significant risk as a conduit for illegal, and potentially harmful, communications from strangers.
To help young people and their parents understand and avoid the risks posed by Internet communication, DA Conley implemented a comprehensive outreach campaign to educate youths and parents about safe Internet use.
As part of this campaign, the district attorney and members of his staff regularly visit schools in Suffolk County to bring their message directly to the young people of Suffolk County, and to their parents and teachers. If you are interested in having a member of DA Conley’s office speak to your school or organization regarding issues of Internet Safety or Cyberbullying, please send a request by email to cybersafe@suf.state.ma.us. In that email, please write your name and contact information, the name of your organization, and the kind of presentation that you are interested in.
