Second Dorchester man arraigned for October homicide in Mattapan
BOSTON, January 2, 2026 – The second man accused in the October 11 shooting death of G’Kiyah Lewis and non-fatal shooting of two others was arraigned in Dorchester BMC today, Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden announced.
KWESSI ADOM SILCOTT, 20, is charged with first-degree murder and carrying a firearm without a license. Judge Dana Pierce ordered Silcott held without bail. He will return to court February 5 for a probable cause hearing.
At about 1:30 p.m. on October 11, officers responded to a report of multiple people shot in Mattapan. About five individuals were congregated on the front porch of 2 Hiawatha Road, when two men approached the home on a scooter. One of the men, later identified as Silcott, got off the scooter and fired at least 21 shots at the porch, striking three people present. Silcott got back onto the scooter and the two men fled the scene. The three victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment for gunshot wounds. On November 7, 18-year-old G’Kiyah Lewis of Malden, who was struck in the head and upper torso, was pronounced deceased. The other two adult male victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers were able to identify and locate the two men through a combination of video, GPS tracking, and other circumstantial evidence. Boston Police arrested D’Khari Wornum-Brown, the operator of the scooter, in Roxbury on December 31. The shooter, Silcott, turned himself in to Boston Police on January 1.
“I’m grateful that the two individuals charged with killing G’Kiyah Lewis and wounding two others will answer to the offenses. Nothing can ease the sorrow of G’Kiyah’s tragic death, but I hope those who knew and loved her find some solace in knowing that the men accused of her murder will be judged for their actions,” Hayden said.
All charged individuals are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
