Chelsea man sentenced to life in prison for 2024 homicide in Voke Park
BOSTON, June 5, 2026 – Judge James Lang today sentenced NATANAEL PAGAN-RIOS, 34, of Chelsea, to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 20 years for the stabbing death of Juan Osorio, 40, of Chelsea inside Voke Park in November 2024, Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden announced.
A Suffolk Superior jury found Pagan-Rios guilty of second-degree murder Thursday.
At about 6:36 a.m. on November 1, 2024, police responded to Voke Park at 540 Washington Ave in Chelsea, where they located Juan Osorio, inside of the park, deceased. He had been stabbed 52 times. Video surveillance in the area shows a dark GMC Acadia, later determined to belong to ALYCIA WILHELMSEN, 37, of Revere, pulling into the parking lot of Voke Park at 4:51 a.m. Two people are seen exiting the SUV and making their way into the park. Shortly after, two people are seen running back and getting into the SUV.
A search warrant was executed on the vehicle and a box containing two sets of bloody clothing was recovered from the trunk. Wilhelmsen's cell phone data put her in the area of 24 Laurel Street in Saugus where investigators recovered a bladed knife, surgical gloves and additional clothing. Forensic analysis confirmed both Pagan-Rios and Wilhelmsen’s DNA were linked to the items recovered.
Wilhelmsen, also charged with Osorio's murder, is scheduled for trial on June 15.
Juan Osorio’s sister delivered a victim impact statement at the sentencing, saying, “My brother was not just another person; he was a son, a father, an uncle, my only brother, my friend. He mattered, he was loved deeply, and his absence has left a hole in our lives that can never be filled. I will forever carry the pain of losing him and will forever be his voice.”
Juan’s mother wrote in her statement, read by Assistant District Attorney Alexandra Rahimi, “ I ask this Court to understand that behind this case is not simply evidence, testimony, or court proceedings – behind this case is a mother who lost her only son, children who lost their father, a sister who lost her brother, and a family that has been permanently destroyed.”
All charged individuals are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
