BOSTON, July 9, 2021— Theodore Gamble-Williams, 36 of Boston, was arraigned today in the West Roxbury Division of the Boston Municipal Court on charges that include three counts of assault and battery on a police officer and single counts of unlawful possession of a firearm as a second offense, carrying a loaded firearm, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute as a subsequent offense and resisting arrest.  He is also charged as being a Level 3 armed career criminal and an habitual offender.

At the request of Assistant District Attorney Michelle Slade, supervising attorney of the District Attorney’s West Roxbury prosecution team, Judge Kathleen Coffey ordered that Mr. Gamble-Williams be held without bail pending the outcome of a dangerousness hearing that will take place on July 14, 2021.  Judge Coffey additionally revoked Mr. Gamble-Williams’ bail in a pending case for a period of 90 days at the request of prosecutors.  He was represented at arraignment by attorney Erin Harris and will be represented by attorney Nancy Hurley moving forward.

“As with all police-involved shootings in Suffolk County, my Discharge Integrity Team will conduct an independent review of this non-fatal shooting.  I’m grateful that none of the involved officers or any members of the public were injured. Mr. Gamble-Williams survived his injuries and is expected to recover,” District Attorney Rachael Rollins said.  “The felony charges against this individual reflect the seriousness of his alleged conduct and offenses.  As I have said repeatedly, those who commit serious and violent crimes that put the people of Suffolk County at risk will be held accountable and removed from our community.”

All charged individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
