About the Press Office

District Attorney Conley’s Press Office delivers public information to local, regional, and national media outlets, conducts news conferences, and provides office spokespersons to ensure that the public receives timely and accurate information about investigations and prosecutions and office-related programs, events, services, and personnel.

The Press Office releases information to the media for two reasons: First, to comply with requests from media organizations in accordance with public information laws; and second, to inform the public, whom this office serves, about issues of importance to individuals and their communities.

DA Conley is committed to transparency and accessibility. The prosecutors, victim-witness advocates, investigators, administrators, and support personnel who work for the district attorney serve, first and foremost, the citizens of Suffolk County. As such, the public is entitled to know how the DA’s office views its mission, what duties it undertakes to fulfill that mission, and how effective it is in doing so.

In determining which information shall be released to the media, the Press Office is guided by its own internal press policy and by Rules 3.6 and 3.8(e) of the Supreme Judicial Court’s Rules of Professional Conduct.

Reporters seeking to contact the Press Office may contact Press Secretary Jake Wark at (617) 619-4206.  After normal business hours, members of the media can reach the Press Office by calling (617) 872-7294.
